embodied interactivity or everybody in the audience a partner

Teaching on Mediated Choreography MA/MFA module at Roehampton University

In this session we will consider mediation in two ways. Taking a number of my works as concrete examples of practising performance, we will think about the score (the plan, the coding) and how its manifestation is negotiated in real-time through changing  material and attentional conditions. We will think through analogies of coding, and a lens of “practice” to explore ways in which the audience/ visitor could be conceptualised as co-agent or navigator of the work. The session will be part presentation and part practical exploration.
